Spring FAQs
We produce a wide range of spring and pressings solutions, including:
- Coil springs (compression, extension, torsion & more)
- Gas springs (dynamic, compression, lockable, stainless steel, traction & NitroSprings).
- Flat springs (constant force, power & spiral springs)
- Pressings (bushings, circlips, deep drawn parts, wave washers, stampings, strip components & disc springs)
We supply a comprehensive selection of stock springs and develop custom-engineered components tailored to your exact requirements.
Across Lesjöfors, our advanced manufacturing capabilities extend down to 0.03 mm. If your requirement falls within this ultra-fine range, we’ll connect you with the right facility to handle your project. Contact us to discuss.
A spring’s lifespan depends on load, material, design, environment, and operating conditions. We design and manufacture each spring to meet your specific performance and durability requirements. When used within its design parameters, your spring will deliver consistent, long-term performance.
At Lesjöfors, we are known for our high-quality standards. Springs are verified through rigorous testing in our state-of-the-art quality management departments. Depending on the specification, testing may include:
- Load and deflection testing
- Fatigue and cycle-life testing
- Dimensional and tolerance inspection
- Material verification and hardness testing
- Environmental and corrosion testing

Wire form FAQs
Wire forms are versatile components used across industries, from electronics to heavy machinery. They’re ideal for fastening, retaining, guiding, or connecting parts, and can be shaped into clips, hooks, rings, and other complex geometries to meet specific design requirements.
We manufacture wire forms in diameters from 0.2 mm to 25 mm, using carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials. Our team can advise on the most suitable material and finish for your application, ensuring strength, durability, and corrosion resistance.
Every wire form is produced using advanced CNC forming equipment for precision and consistency. Smaller batches can be hand-finished for unique shapes or prototypes. We also offer heat treatment, shot peening, and surface finishing.
Pressing FAQs
We produce a wide range of metal pressings, from simple stampings and deep-drawn parts to complex multislide components and assemblies. Every piece is designed to precise specifications for strength, fit, and reliability.
We work with carbon and stainless steels, aluminium, beryllium copper, brass, phosphor bronze, aluminium, titanium, and superalloys such as Inconel and Hastelloy. Material selection is tailored to performance, corrosion resistance, and environmental conditions.
Yes. We provide rapid prototyping, low-volume samples, product development support, and full-scale production using advanced tooling and automated lines. Our flexible setup ensures speed, consistency, and cost efficiency across all volumes.
Gas spring FAQs
Each gas spring contains compressed nitrogen that creates a controlled pushing force. This delivers smooth, consistent motion, ideal for lifting, counterbalancing, and damping across industrial and engineered applications.
Performance depends on temperature, mounting orientation, and operating conditions. Pressure rises by about 3.5% per 10 °C. Rod-down installation and proper alignment help maintain lubrication, damping, and long-term reliability.
Lesjöfors gas springs typically last up to 40,000 cycles with minimal force loss. Lifespan depends on correct installation, temperature stability, and protection from vibration, side loads, and contamination.
Sustainability FAQs
Sustainability is embedded in everything we do. Guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we prioritise responsible sourcing, energy efficiency, and continuous improvement across our operations.
Our science-based targets, validated by the SBTi, align with the Paris Agreement. We’re cutting CO₂ emissions through renewable energy, efficient production, and smarter resource use.
We power sustainable solutions through advanced technology, digitalisation, and close supplier collaboration, reducing material impact and improving efficiency.
We source metals responsibly under our Code of Conduct and Conflict Minerals Policy, ensuring full transparency and traceability from raw materials to finished components.
Manufacturing FAQs
We continually invest in advanced technology and efficient processes to deliver industry-leading turnaround times. From design and quotation to manufacture and dispatch, we can complete your project quickly and competitively.
There are virtually no limits to the volume of manufacturing we can offer. From one-off prototypes to high-volume production runs, we have the capacity, expertise, and flexibility to meet your requirements at any scale.
Yes. To help streamline your supply chain, some of our sites offer finished goods stock and storage solutions. By manufacturing in volume and holding stock on your behalf, we can help you gain efficiency, reduce lead times, and ensure reliable availability. To discuss, contact us now.
Yes. Whether you require a specific type of freight, packaging configuration, or labeling standard, our dispatch teams will ensure your products are packaged exactly as needed. We can also manage assembly and kitting for seamless integration into your production or distribution process.
Material FAQs
We work with almost every material available, including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and titanium alloys. We also supply super alloys such as Inconel, Hastelloy, and Nimonic, and hold one of the world’s largest stocks of chrome silicon and chrome vanadium wire.
Material choice depends on load, temperature, corrosion resistance, and fatigue life. Our engineers assess each application to recommend the most suitable and cost-effective option.
Carbon steel and stainless steel are the most widely used materials due to their strength, fatigue resistance, and cost efficiency. For more demanding environments, we use chrome silicon, chrome vanadium, or Inconel for enhanced durability and performance.
Technology FAQs
Yes. We collaborate closely with you from concept to completion, optimizing design, material choice, and performance to ensure your component meets every technical and operational requirement.
Our facilities feature advanced CNC coiling, stamping, and forming equipment, alongside 3D scanning, robotics, automated heat treatment, and precision finishing technologies. These systems ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across all component types.
We combine design expertise with rigorous, audited production processes. Every component goes through multiple quality-controlled stages, from material selection to testing, to guarantee performance, durability, and reliability.
